How to use Budding Tape for T-budding
Wind Budding Tape around the stalk, pulling tightly as you go. Cover the bud with the fully with Budding Tape, but do not wind more than two layers. Continue to wind Budding Tape around the stalk until the entire length of the incision is covered. Stretch the end of Budding Tape Pull tightly and tear to tie off.
How to use Budding Tape for Chip budding.
Begin winding Budding Tape from the bottom end of the chip. Pinch the end of the Tape with one hand and hold the remainder with the other. Wind Budding Tape in layers at equal intervals, stretching as you go.Two layers of Budding Tape should be wound over the actual bud. However, do not wind more than 3 layers, as this will deter the growth of the bud. Pull the budding tape tightly, tear and tie off to keep securely in place.
How to use Budding Tape for Cut Grafting
Begin winding Budding Tape from the bottom end of the grafting joint. Wind Budding Tape at least 5 times around the grafting area,pulling tightly as you go. The winding operation can be made easier by holding the tape with one hand and turning the stalk with the other. Continue to wind Budding Tape around the section above the graft in order to prevent it from drying out. 2 layers should be wound around the bud area. Do not wind more than 3 layers, as this will deter the growth of the bud. Continue to apply Budding Tape, including the cut end of the stalk, so that the entire graft area is covered. One covered, cut tape and tie tightly to secure into place.
