Harvested from renewable sources in Madagascar, it is available in a range of exciting colours in 50g hanks.
Loved by gardeners, florists, crafters , designers and jam makers! Raffia makes a kind and gentle tie for supporting soft or succulent stems. it is also great to use for tying when grafting trees.
Made from the dried and shredded leaves of the palmyra palm tree. Please note that because it is a natural fibre there may be the occasional variance in colour between hanks and also compared to the images shown.
Each hank contains more than 90 lengths, each length is 1 metre long. Open up hank, which is tied at one end, hang is up and pull out a strand as required.
Colour may fade in light.

- Keep it bundled to make bows.
Ideal for: Pom Poms, raffia flowers, florist work, traditional grafting, table setting craft etc, etc, etc!
WHAT IS RAFFIA?

Raffia is a natural fibre and is commonly used in crafting projects, twines, ropes, shoes, hats and other textiles.
The Fibre itself is created from the underside of the frond leaf. Also known as Raffia Palm, this native to Madagascar possesses large plume-like leaves that are utilised within a variety of industries and is a major part of the south Asian economy.
The tree has been said to harness over 800 uses, with the leaves used in thatching, construction, mats, baskets, fans and hats!
The tree is so important to this area and their ongoing economy that in Cambodia the tree is seen as a national symbol!
Nutscene's Raffia is created from the Palmyra Palm Tree and we have proudly supplied the best quality Raffia for over 25 years!
First and foremost, Raffia is created from sustainable sources. The Palmyra Palm Tree is part of the Borassus family, which consists of five giant fan palms which are native to the tropical regions of Africa, Asia and New Guinea.

Once your order is ready, we'll email you. Please reply with your expected pickup time so we can have everything ready.

If a parcel is returned due to an incorrect address, missed delivery or non-collection, a re-shipping fee may apply.
