OPINEL Intempora N°225 Paring Knife - 8cm

Everyone needs a paring knife in their kitchen. The slim, sharp blade of this Opinel knife is perfect for slicing, skinning, chopping, peeling fruits and vegetables and cutting up meat.
The blade is solid and sharp. The handle is comfortable and pleasant to the touch.

Designed in France & Made in Portugal.

Specifications:

Blade Length: 8cm

Stainless Steel: Martensitic stainless steel with a high carbon content (0.52%) which guarantees excellent sharpness and high cutting power while offering good corrosion resistance thanks to the addition of chromium (14.5%) and manganese (0.60%).

Handle: The moulded handle is made from fibreglass polyoxymethylene which ensures excellent resistance to wear and water and outstanding impact strength. Thanks to its curved shape and triangular profile, it provides a secure and comfortable grip.

Blade: The full-tang blade extends throughout the entire length of the handle. The knife is robust and well balanced.

ABOUT OPINEL:

Victor-Amédée Opinel who was a peddler, learnt how to forge nails during his travels. He set up his first blacksmith workshop in Gevoudaz, a hamlet part of Albiez-le-Vieux, near Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne. His son Daniel later worked alongside his father and grew to became a renowned “edgetool maker”(maker of sharp tools) among farmers who came from afar to buy his billhooks or sickles...

Fast forward to the new millenium and the Opinel pocket knife is recognised as one of the 999 most successful designs of all times by a jury of international designers in the beautiful three-volume set of the "Phaidon Design Classics"
