For over 130 years, Opinel has been dedicated to producing high-quality knives and tools in the picturesque French Alps. Continuing the legacy of Joseph Opinel, who began his craft in 1890, we proudly manufacture our products at our facility in Chambéry, France. The sheath is further enhanced with R-PET felt sides, which are made from recycled plastic bottles, underscoring our commitment to sustainability.

Pickup is available from 14 Loftus Street, Bowral NSW 2576, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM.
Once your order is ready, we'll email you. Please reply with your expected pickup time so we can have everything ready.
Pickup is unavailable on weekends and NSW public holidays.
Missed Deliveries & Returns
If a parcel is returned due to an incorrect address, missed delivery or non-collection, a re-shipping fee may apply.
Once dispatched, delivery is handled by the courier. We'll always do our best to help with any issues. Courier delays are outside our control, but if we've made an error, we'll make it right.
ABOUT OPINEL:
Victor-Amédée Opinel who was a peddler, learnt how to forge nails during his travels. He set up his first blacksmith workshop in Gevoudaz, a hamlet part of Albiez-le-Vieux, near Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne. His son Daniel later worked alongside his father and grew to became a renowned “edgetool maker”(maker of sharp tools) among farmers who came from afar to buy his billhooks or sickles...
Fast forward to the new millenium and the Opinel pocket knife is recognised as one of the 999 most successful designs of all times by a jury of international designers in the beautiful three-volume set of the "Phaidon Design Classics"
