The energy saving Sheila Maid uses the Original Curved Shape cast iron rack ends - part of the British household for over 100 years. Its' classic style and purpose puts space to good use in the Kitchen - Utility Room - Storage Room - Tack Room - Garage - Attic - Shop Displays and makes attractive displays of herbs & dried flowers.
Complete with everything you need to install it: wooden rails, 2 cast iron rack ends, a single pulley, double pulley, cleat hook and a 10 mt UK manufactured cotton durable rope.

The 2 extra rails will give you 50% more drying space! The wood we use for our wooden rails is carefully selected by us from sustainable resources. The wood is kiln-dried and given no further treatment. This provides you with a durable rail that will stand up to many years of drying.

After payment and order confirmation, we will get your order ready and send you another email indicating it is ready for collection. Please reply to the email with an ETA so that we can ensure everything is 100% ready to pick up seamlessly.

Missed Deliveries & Returns
If your order is returned to us (due to incorrect address, missed delivery, or non-collection), a small re-shipping fee may apply. Once your parcel leaves our hands, the courier takes over but we’ll always try our best to help if anything goes off-track. The Sheila Maid® Airer - a classic from a bygone age.
In Great Britain throughout the 18th and early 20th century no kitchen, wash-house or scullery was complete without a ceiling mounted, pulley operated clothes airer. However, during the middle part of the twentieth century the advent of tumble dryer led to the "pulley" or "creel" falling out of favour.
In 1986, Sheila Johnston, realising the environmental concerns over use of fossil fuels and also the damaging effects of repeated tumble drying on laundry, re-introduced this iconic item to the market, and so was born the Sheila Maid®.
The first product - the iconic 4 rail airer with clear coated cast iron metal parts - was soon making a comeback in British households and the range was expanded to include more colour choices and a range of sizes.. Nowadays the benefits and ease of use the Sheila Maid® is enjoyed worldwide.
Tried, tested and loved by generations of happy users, the Sheila Maid® airer has regained its rightful place as an integral and indispensable part of the kitchen or utility room.
